Don's practice includes areas as varied as real estate development
and representation of business entities, but his primary areas of interest now involve estate planning
and administration, guardianship and conservatorship, nursing home
planning which often includes Medicaid.
Personal areas of interest over the years have included serving for 15 years on the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley (2 years as President), various leadership positions over 30 years in the First Congregational UCC of Longmont (3 years as Moderator), and for the past 6 years he has spent a week each year doing construction in Katrina-damaged areas of Mississippi.



Neil E. Piller (Of Counsel)
Neil was raised in the corn fields of southern Illinois. His desire to see something other than corn stalks led him to Yale University
where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. He completed his graduate education at the University of Colorado School of Law
where he earned a Juris Doctor Degree and was a member/editor of the University of Colorado Law Review. Following law school, Neil was the legal assistant for U.S. District Judge O. Hatfield Chilson in Denver. He has been a partner and officer of Schey & Schey, P.C.
and its successor, Schey, Piller, Alspaugh, & Wong, P.C.
since 1973. Neil's practice emphasizes personal injury work, including automobile accidents, wrongful death cases, and other types of accident-related injuries, as well as general litigation. His other areas of practice include commercial transactions, corporate and partnership organizations
and consulting, estate planning
and administration, construction
and real estate law.
As the main litigator in the law firm with more than three decades experience, he provides his clients with personalized attention and service. In personal injury
matters, he has been able to recover in excess of $11 million
for his clients.
